Microsoft is Ending Windows Live Mail!

Microsoft Windows Live Mail has been a favorite to many Windows users due to its uncluttered user-friendly platform. Unfortunately, Microsoft will be ending the entire essentials suite around January 2017. The suite also included Windows Movie Maker, Windows Photo Gallery, and Windows Live Writer. The replacement email platform for Windows is the “mail” app built within Windows 10 operating system which has some different features compared to Windows Live mail. Microsoft is also pushing users to switch to the cloud version, Outlook 365 and pay a monthly subscription. Fortunately, you do not have to pay a monthly subscription because there are other free options.  Other options include Mozilla Thunderbird or Microsoft Office Suite 2016 (one-time license key purchase) which includes the email platform called Outlook. You can access many different email providers through these platforms such as Gmail, Yahoo, AOL, Hotmail and much more. You can even setup multiple accounts to one email platform. For more information, or for assistance transferring your emails from Microsoft Windows Live mail to a new email platform. Contact ABM Computers. (510)522.4921
